Your journey to Wyk auf Föhr
From Dagebüll on the mainland, you can easily reach the island's capital, Wyk auf Föhr, with the ferries of the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei (WDR). The crossing takes about 50 minutes and offers a beautiful view of the North Sea landscape of the Wadden Sea. The ferries operate several times a day, with the schedule based on the tides.
There are several ways to get to Dagebüll:
- By car, you can reach the Dagebüll ferry port via the B5, which leads directly to the terminal. Ample parking is available at the port – both for short-term parking and for vacationers who want to leave their car there during their stay on the island.
- By train, you can take the regional train to Dagebüll Mole station, which is located directly at the ferry terminal. The trains are optimally coordinated with the ferry times.
Tip: It's best to reserve your ferry tickets in advance via the WDR website, especially during peak season. Current schedules and prices can be found at www.faehre.de
From the ferry port you can reach Utes Huus by car in just a few minutes (free parking is available directly at the house).
You can reach Utes Huus on foot along the beautiful Sandwall beach promenade in about 10 minutes.

The environment
The Sandwall in Wyk on Föhr is one of the island's most famous addresses – and it's precisely here that "Utes Huus" is located. The popular promenade directly on the North Sea offers breathtaking views of the Wadden Sea and is perfect for long walks. In the immediate vicinity, you'll find numerous cafés, restaurants, and small boutiques that invite you to linger and stroll. The fine sandy Wyk South Beach is just 100 meters from your holiday apartment and is perfect for sunbathing and refreshing swims. From your accommodation, you can also reach the historic town center of Wyk with its characteristic Frisian houses in just a few minutes on foot. The central location on the Sandwall guarantees excellent connections to all important amenities: various shops, the Wyk Steamship Company, and the central bus station are all within easy reach.
